Judge on facts, not perceptions

This is my Blog. Welcome. Those who know me will probably be saying “what the hell!!! She’s lost it again”. Those who don’t know me or know me only as a colleague or acquaintance may well be shocked to hear what I have to ramble about. But here is the great thing about resources such as blogging, you can opt to follow my ramblings or, if you don’t like what you read, please feel free not to read any more. I most certainly will not be offended. In this episode of my ramblings I have decided to share why I have chosen to be involved with the Teen Moms Support Group KZN . In December 1979 I gave birth, via emergency caesarean, to a beautiful, black haired, blue eyed, baby girl whom I named Bronwyn. I was just 17 years old. Strict instructions from my father, when I told him of my plight, “no marriage, no abortion and definitely no keeping of baby” put paid to my dream of keeping my baby girl. I fought for 9 long months and eventually lost the fight and had to put Bronwyn up for adoption.

Tribute to my Sister

It is now 2am and I cannot sleep. My mind keeps going over the assignments I need to hand in on Tuesday. I keep wondering about the rocks in my head that made me decide to become an estate agent and have to study the NQF4 to qualify as an estate agent. I have not had to study since I left school (I just turned 49, you do the maths) and even then I did my best not to do to much. Not that I was stupid or slow, I just knew everything anyway, who needs teachers. LOL. Because I was so clever I did not think it necessary to complete my matric back then. Guess what, this has come back to bite me in the ass all these years later. Now I have to prove that I am proficient in English, Afrikaans and Maths i.e. the fundamentals, which account for more than a third of the credits required for this qualification. To be Married or Not to be Married

One would think that after almost 20 years of marriage that two normally mature adults would be able to resolve their problems. Yeah, right. Not gonna happen. I married my hubby because he was my Mr Perfect. He was going to be a wonderful provider, awesome father, amazing lover and so forth. I was right on almost all counts. I am one of the lucky few women to get it right. My hubby married me because ………. hell I don’t know why!!! But 20 years later (next month in fact we will celebrate this with him working and me barefoot in my pj’s cooking dinner) we are still fighting in love. The topic for today’s rambling came about from a very serious note. Hubby has been working 14 to 18 hours a day every day for the past 8 weeks. Stressed to the hilt. I’ve been on my usual rollercoaster ride of all kinds of work and feeling grossly unappreciated.
